There’s this unique talent that’s buried deep within me,
It’s never been used but I can still feel it’s there.
Gathering up dust as it wastes inside of me,
I long to explore it but I’m hampered by fear:
Fear of the unknown as I fathom this endeavor,
Fear of the ridicule if I fail to succeed,
Fear to make known of my heart’s one true desire,
Fear to be branded a fool for entering this league.
For I see so many around me who display so much skill,
And I say to myself, “My efforts can never match their will.”
Then a quiet voice reminds me that it’s not how much we’re given,
But what we do with what we have that quantifies our living.
So I’ll take this one little talent that’s buried deep within me,
And I’ll force myself to use it till I make it multiply!
I REFUSE to let it waste and be taken away from me,
For it’s the only talent I have…
And I won’t let it die…
What’s your talent?
